ZEISS Plants 150 Mangroves as a Step Towards Nature Conservation
Thailand
As part of ZEISS’s CSR initiatives to preserve and protect the environment, ZEISS Thailand organized a Mangrove Reforestation activity on 30 June 2017 at Khlong Khone Mangrove Forest, Samut Songkhram Province, Thailand. Through this reforestation project, further awareness has been generated regarding the vital role played by mangroves in the conservation of a variety of marine animals.
About 70 employees participated and united their efforts in this activity. The day commenced by performing Buddhist prayers followed by a brief lecture on the importance of mangroves in the aquatic ecosystem and the proper way of planting this tree. All in all, 150 mangrove trees were successfully planted during the full-day program. The challenging but fruitful outing closed with a simple dinner for the ZEISS employees and the community.
This Mangrove Reforestation project is an annual Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of ZEISS Thailand.
