  • Thinking about getting your first pair of progressives?
  • Tired of switching between your all-day distance and reading glasses?
  • Want new glasses your eyes can get used to quickly?

Welcome to your progressive lens era.

ZEISS Progressive Light 2 lenses are made especially for first-time progressive lens wearers. You’ll get used to them rapidly while enjoying clear, natural vision. They’re an excellent option for mature eyes.

Adapt in just a few hours.

Switching to progressive lenses can be tough on your eyes. Why? They need to adjust to seeing through three different power zones (near, intermediate and far) – and this process can take up to a few days.

ZEISS Light 2 lenses are here to help – with large vision zones from near to far and a soft increase in blur distributed across the peripheral areas. So you can start seeing effortlessly very, very soon.

See it all – near, far & in-between.

There are different types of progressive lens designs. Hard design lenses may have larger clear vision zones, while soft design lenses can include gradual transitions into the peripheral blurred areas. These can help your eyes adapt quickly to progressives, but often limit the area of clear vision.

With a wide distance zone, an enlarged near zone and a soft increase in blur in the peripheral areas, ZEISS Light 2 lenses are an improvement on soft lens designs – for fast adaptation and natural vision.

Hard, soft or hybrid? More about lens designs.

The soft design lenses show stretched blur zones left and right, and smaller fields of vision near and far, but smooth transitions between the blur zones and a wider field of vision at the intermediate distance.
The hard design lenses show wide fields of vision at near and far distances, but sudden transitions between the blur zones.

Explaining hard and soft designs.

Hard design lenses provide wide fields of clear vision in the upper and lower parts of the lens, making it comfortable to see up close and far away. But they usually lack smooth transitions between the blur zones. In other words, your eyes might need longer to get used to them.

It’s easier to adapt to soft design lenses – they’re designed for this very purpose. The blur increases gently across the peripheral area of the lens, which makes them feel comfortable quickly. But you’ll only see medium-wide fields of clear vision.

Hybrid lens designs – why not combine the two?

Hard and soft lens designs both have their benefits. But hybrid designs combine the best of both designs in one – which means you won’t need to compromise. Take our ZEISS Progressive SmartLife lenses, for example. You’ll get wide fields of view in any distance and direction – plus smooth transitions between the blurred zones. The result: fast adaptation.

Light in weight –
not a lightweight.

ZEISS Light 2 lenses are designed to be thin and light – so you’ll feel and look great when you wear them all day long. And they’re not heavy on your wallet, either.

New tech for mature eyes.

ZEISS EasyFocus technology is designed to make wearing progressives as comfortable as possible for your eyes.

ZEISS EasyFocus technology takes into account how your eyes move up and down – making it easier to focus clearly when switching between different distances. You’ll feel comfortable reading things that are far away or up close.

When you look at something with both eyes, it's important that your eyes work together. They should see the same thing at the same time. Binocular optimization helps synchronize what your left and right eyes see – for clear vision at all distances.

The moderate-soft design gives you a medium-sized field of clear view, but the areas around the edges could seem a little blurred. This soft, gradual effect is easier on the eyes than a sudden one – and it helps your eyes adapt to your new progressives in just a few hours2.
